One of the advantages of paraffin wax is that it burns with hardly any smell which makes it a perfect candidate for adding a variety of special wax perfumes to. Essential oils can be used as an alternative to wax perfumes, although care is needed as some of them give of a nasty bitter smell when burnt.
I absolutely love experimenting with fragrances by blending different fragrances together, this can give your candles their own unique blend of aroma's and gives you the benefit of having your own personal signature range of aroma's. It has also been proven, that fragrant candles sell better than unfragranced.
