Candle making instruction-How to make a moulded candle-step 4

Step 4

Use a candle mould release agent or simply use spray&cook and give the inside of your mould a quick spray. I have found that baby vaseline also works well, but sometimes leaves a oily residue on the surface of the candle.

This is done so that the candle releases easily from the mould. At this point I would also like to add that when you choose any candle making mould or perhaps a plastic tumbler from the kitchen it is preferable for the inner surface to be nice and smooth or you might encounter difficulty when it is time to remove the candle from the mould.

This however is not a must because you can simply add more stearic acid to your wax that will allow your candle to shrink even more and thereby release easier from the mold. It is typical for rough pvc drain pipes to create difficulty with releasing.Your mould is now prepared and ready for you to hand pour the molten wax.
